Sommerville NJ County Clerk Court House Elopement

Kristen and Jeff wanted to elope, they are an international couple! Jeff is English and lives in the UK, and Kristen lives here in New Jersey. They have been long distance throughout their entire relationship, visiting each other several times a year for over seven years now. They met online through a mutual friend who thought we would like each other's artwork, and they have just never stopped talking ever since. Jeff's fiancé visa was just recently approved, so now they're moving to America in the beginning of June for the, and this wedding is actually going to end their long distance relationship.

The two love birds were so overjoyed. They have been having to say goodbye to each other at airports for so long, and the fact that Jeff came here to stay and that they can actually be together forever is so incredible. Jeff proposed late 2021 at a beach that has a lot of sentimental meaning to them both, with this beautiful rose gold, morganite and diamond halo ring... Kristen knew it was coming but still cried like a baby. Both spouses are very silly, fun-loving people, both very affectionate and both just madly in love.

They were excited for the happiness and joy of the day, and all the love and emotions they felt. They were long distance for seven years and have been through so much, this made it an emotional "FINALLY!" of them getting to be together forever.

Kristen wore a short, puff-sleeve white dress made of eyelet cotton with a full pleated skirt and white floral earrings. Jeff is wore a blue checked trousers with Embassy London oxford shoes, a white button-up, suspenders and a bowtie. Each one of them had little accents of blue and yellow.

The weather called for heavy rain all day but the morning off it changed and there was a break in the middle of the day so the entire photo time was soft overcast and no rain

All the details of the day were on point. Kristen’s bouquet had a pin that belonged to Jeff’s mother, which made it more special. The judge marrying them had a photo in the court house room of when he was a ring bearer aka his first wedding

After we went to the clerk’s office we walked across the street to the original town court house. The white greek style marble made the best photos. Funny, the other couple getting married at the courthouse came there for their photos as well. The stairs had two sides. I told the other photographer we can share. I took the left stairs and they took the right.

After wards we took a short drive to Ellsworth Van Fleet Gardens. The rain still hadn’t started. There were perfect yellow flowers on the edge of the park that matched their wedding colors perfectly. We did our last couple’s portraits on the little bridge in the park. I was my usual crazy self and climbed right in the ditch the bridge went over for the PERFECT angle for pictures. After all my years of doing photography, I have no fear of climbing, squating, or even jumping if it makes a great image for my clients.

The last photos taken were of a mini bouquet toss. Kristen’s best friend and her partner of ten plus years caught the bouquet and everyone cheered.

I drove home from everything, the rain just started to come down and I was sipping on a big iced coffee I bought at Ambee Coffee knowing we had a fantastic elopement
